Lucena City - The regional director of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) here has urged vigilance to his subordinates so as to enhance sustainable leadership needed for the accomplishment of the agency’s mission.
At a traditional New Year’s call last week of regional staff, Provincial Administrators (PA’s) and wardens, BJMP4A RD J/S Supt Norvel Mingoa stressed the importance of competent leadership in their field for the bureau cannot afford lapses otherwise he said it would lead to the incidence of jailbreaks which his office is trying to prevent.
Mingoa, however, inspired men and women of BJMP on how to learn from their mistakes and provided ways and means to avoid repetition of the same lapses. According to the regional director that it is only through looking back and problem identification that everything could be fixed whereby these mistakes become a valuable tool against failure.
RD Mingoa further enticed New Year’s call participants to focus on their job until they transform themselves as extra-ordinary leaders, the nearest point to meet the standard set by the bureau to its officers, a way to achieve the goal of BJMP as a result oriented agency.
Those who made the call were jail officers from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon and general staff from Region 4A. J/Supt Revelina Sindol and J/Supt Randel Latoza assisted the regional director at the reception line.
The call was followed by Management Conference and Pinning of Ranks. (SANDY BELARMINO/VP Seven Lakes Press Corps)
